April was a fun, crazy month for us... since I'm so behind on posting it here and since this post is so big, here's the quick overview:This first group of photos is technically May, but it was a 3 day weekend heading into April... Sleepover/theatre performance with the Turner girls followed by a geocaching hike the next day. We looked for 3 caches and each happened to be more difficult than the previous one. Emmy's face in the last three pictures are a perfect illustration of how our hiking experience progressed. ;-)
3/31 We used all our reading reward coupons and left over tokens to have lunch date at the Brick Oven and play at Chuck-E-Cheese.
4/1 Matt started reading The Great Brain with Will and Owen. Owen's not a fan (he thinks it's too scary) but Will can't get enough of the book, and of course they both can't get enough of time spent with their awesome Dad.
4/2 Lauren was in the finals district spelling bee this year. She went one round further than she did in the semi-finals last year. Woot woot!
4/4 - 4/6 Bradley had his last Eagles hockey tournament in Park City over conference weekend. Matt was out of town till Sunday so I took the kids up to the condo and we made a mini-vacation out of the tournament.
4/7 - 4/11 Homeschool: Lauren did a lot of cooking for school this month. She made an American flag cake for Vanguard, an animal cell pizza (the other kids joined in that one) and a plant cell brownie.
4/10 Indoor Skydiving!! Matt works with a guy that also does lots of skydiving and works with iFly in Ogden. He surprised us with passes - we all LOVED it!!! This was such an amazing experience!!
4/11 Lauren and I went to see Lois Lowry speak. She's doing a promotional tour for the Giver movie but she talked about her life and all her other books. She's such a diverse author - love her!!
4/14 Annual neighborhood Easter Egg hunt:
4/17 Will received his Wolf award and is now a Bear scout!
4/18 Will was in the third grade "wax museum" as George Washington. Each student chooses a famous person, writes a biography of their life, makes a poster showing the key points of their life, and dresses up like them for the museum. Will had some pretty sweet poses.
4/19 Vanguard game night at our house. The teens started with bingo and board games but ended up spending the bulk of their time hypnotizing each other. Cute group of kids...
4/20 Easter! The bunny brought Lagoon passes instead of baskets this year. We had our own egg hunt after church and the Green families joined us for dinner later that evening. Sue choked and Matt had to give her the heimlich - scary!
4/21 Year end hockey party for Davis High
4/23 Will is determined to earn enough money for an X-box. He goes in spurts with how willing he is to actually work for said money, but here's an example of a time when he was ready to get 'er done.
4/24 Bradley ran the 400 for track this year:
After this track meet in Centerville, I rushed back to Layton to pick up Will from his track practice. We went to pick up his ice cream cake for his birthday party and he got a free birthday cone. Yum!
4/25 Will's birthday party at Boondocks:
4/26 Will actually birthday - he got an air soft pistol.
The night of Will's b-day, we got to see Lauren perform in "Seussical the Musical" as a Whoville citizen. She was adorable.
4/27: Matt had a crappy week with work so I surprised him with a night out at Little America and brunch the next morning. It was our first night leaving the kids without a babysitter, but I figured since Bradley's 15 and we were only going 30 minutes away, they could handle it. Best surprise for Matt ever!!
That is just too much information for me to remember it all!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI loved the cute George Washington costume and Lauren's Who costume, did you make them? Lauren's cakes were also very impressive. I know that you really love the Vanguard program, that is neat they have so much fun with each other.
Yay for a night out with the hubby...Bradley is Totally old enough to give you an overnighter 30 minutes away!
That is scary about Sue, I am glad Matt was there to save the day.
WooHoo for running track, Ty, Drew and Caleb all ran the 400 in school, the older two went to State.:)
It seems like Bradley plays hockey yearround, you are a good mom!
It looks like the day with Biffy's girls was fun, neat that you guys are so supportive of each other.
Fun new post. I can't remember everything as well. Your kids are all growing up so fast. Lauren is so creative and what wonderful opportunities for her. Happy birthday to the boys, fun.
