I have got to start blogging more frequently... doing it all in one big bunch is overwhelming! Here's a quick recap of our October happenings: Owen played soccer for the "Yellow Crocodiles." I missed the signup for Will's age group so he won't play till spring. Oops. :(
Will and Owen started to play hockey!! This is their first time actually playing the game - they've done a ton of skating lessons and a learn to play hockey skating lesson but they were never interested in playing and I didn't think they were good enough skaters. Matt's been telling me for a while to just get them playing and the pads and sticks will take their focus away from the fear of skating. He was right - they've improved by leaps and bounds because now they aren't thinking about falling. Both boys are loving it a lot more that any of us were expecting! The first time that they went on the ice I caught a glance of Will from behind; his helmet and jersey had Bradley's old # on them and he looked just like his older brother. I admit, I got a little emotional...
Lauren has been saving her $ and waiting forEVER for the new Pokemon DS game to come out. We went to the store the day it was released and she was in heaven.
We stayed with Grandma Marla on a weekend that Matt and Bradley were in Vegas for a hockey tourney. We loved having a sleepover at her house. While the kids had a movie-a-thon, she and I did some organizing. The bottom two pics show the overabundance of TP she's unknowingly collected. We got a really good laugh over it.
Going to Pack's Pumpkin Patch:
Hike to Donut Falls over UEA weekend. (The very last picture is of Matt and I on a separate hike without the kids).
Eagles Hockey w/ Tino and Cody:
Halloween party at Oakridge. They had food, a fabulous presentation of "scary" animals, pumpkin painting, cookie decorating, and a cupcake walk. Good fun.
Annual Nord Halloween Party. This year it was at Chuck & Tina's home. We had a great time, just like always. As a side note, Lauren made her kimono and I'm wearing my mom's prom dress.
Hooray for your boys and their new love of hockey! That is so sweet about you seeing Will in Bradley's old digs, I would have gotten emotional too. And that stash of toilet paper is cracking me up!!! She is prepared! ;) That was really sweet of you to go for a weekend to help her out, I'm sure she really appreciated it. As for the prom dress, if no one else wants it, I do. It looks like you've had a fun month. And I agree with you, you need to blog more often...I've been missing your posts. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, that was a lot. I love that you boys are enjoying hockey, that's a fun family sport. I love the fall because of all the fun activities involved. It gets crazy, but is always great for family time. That was so sweet of you to help mom out, check out all that toilet paper.:) Did anyone take the dress. I wouldn't have any place for it really, but I'd hate for it to just get sent away. Oh, I need to stop being like mom and wanting to keep everything, but I get sentimental as well. It's great to see what you are all up too.
