December

Miscellaneous pictures - We saw a fox in the neighborhood one morning when I drove the kids to school.  It was so neat!  I also made applesauce for the first time and I love it (although, I must admit, I'm the ONLY one who likes it - ha ha!)

I got my hair cut by Cassie! (Details on the other blog.)

We had our annual gingerbread (graham cracker) house party with the Turners.  I love this easy, fun tradition!

It's Raining Men was Bradley's celebration dance after winning family game night.  He learned his sweet moves from the Viewmont team, lol!

The Pierce family Christmas party. (Details on the other blog.)

My mom moved into a condo!  We're so excited that she's got her bedroom, bath, laundry and living areas all on the same floor.  Plus, the HOA does all the lawn care and snow removal.  Yea!  We knew it was going to be a hard transition for her to move from her home of over 40 years, so the first night she stayed there we had a little party so she wasn't alone.  A lot of furniture came with the house so Kim and I just moved in some necessities and hung up pictures and Grandma Myrtle's artwork so it would feel more homey.  Dan and his family popped in for a bit and then Jackie showed up bearing yumminess from Maddox.  Kim stayed for a while longer and then Jackie and I had a sleepover.  It was a fun weekend to be with everyone.

Christmas dinner with Santa at Oakridge

Girl's night out with Nana and Papa.  We ate dinner and then went to the Piano Guys.  This was only a couple of days after my lumpectomy/lymph node dissection so I only went to the dinner and Matt took me home afterward to rest.

Lauren took a watercolor class at Hobby Lobby and made these beautiful cards.
Lamb's Cafe with the Green family on Christmas Eve.  This was the first year the entire family was there.  I love this group.  Afterward our little family went to the Grand America to see the giant gingerbread house and the window displays.

Christmas morning!  Favorite gifts were: Bradley - Beats headphones, Lauren - She said her stuffed giraffe but she should have said her Taylor Swift tickets (ha ha), Will - Minecraft Legos, Owen - A Mr. Bear stuffed animal picked out by Santa to replace his special one he lost.

The family got season passes to Snow Basin this year and Matt's been so cute about taking them out on daddy-dates and/or taking the entire crew.

While Matt and Bradley were in Phoenix for the Eagles hockey tournament, I took the kids to stay a couple of nights at my mom's house.  We went to Boondocks on the way up there and while we were there we went to Night at the Museum 3 and got chocolates from the Idle Isle - yum!  I also added a picture of the awesome amounts of snow we got this year!

Here are Matt and Bradley's pictures from Phoenix.  The Eagles won the championship!!!  While they were there, Matt sent me a text saying that all the boys were wearing pink laces, stick tape and helmet stickers in support of our family.  It was so touching and we are so grateful to be surrounded by such caring people!  Matt came home early from the tournament to come with me to my plastic surgery consultation, so he missed the championship game but we were cheering along from afar.  Bradley flew home without a guardian since Matt came home early - woot woot for B!!  Also, special thanks to Matt's amazing brother Marcus and his sweet family for hosting Matt and Bradley while they were down there and taking care of B after Matt flew home.  Love you guys!

We showed Bradley the amazingness of the Rocky movies with a marathon:

Annual New Year party with the high school gals.  We met at Amber's beautiful new home and chatted the night away (I think the husbands enjoy being with one another, which is good, because they usually get completely ignored by us chatty gals).  We need to get together more often - I love these women!

  1. What fun things you always do! I love that your family is so tradition packed...when ever I try to get a Tradition going, my family poops out! It is hard having marrieds going so many different directions, but hopefully they will have better luck packing in those fun times...the time just flies by so fast!
    Great pictures as usual.:)
