February - 2nd Half

Owen's birthday!!!  He turned 5 this year and is so excited at the prospect of Kindergarten this fall.  For his birthday he really wanted some Chima Legos and a pair of rain boots.  We also got him a motorized car track; they have it on display in the Gateway Discovery Museum gift shop and he liked to spend just as much time playing with that track as he did with the exhibits in the actual museum.  Here are Owen's favorite things in his words, "uh, Super Mario Galaxy, Luke, Sam, Chase, I like to play with Legos, t-ball, soccer, I like to eat cuties and candy canes."  I'd like to add that he loves Roblox and Minecraft (to the point where it's become a bit of a problem), he loves playing with Will, he likes to go shopping with me, and he's learning to read.  A couple of things Owen's said recently that make us smile: "bascuse me" (for excuse me), and he was in the bad habit of sarcastically saying, "duh" to people but it actually sounded like "duuug."  His giggle is also a highlight in our day. :)

Lauren's had a couple of late nights with her friend Hannah this month... baking and decorating cakes and watching girly movies.

We had a cousin sleepover this month - so fun!!  The boys played non-stop... Beyblades, Wii, forts, war games, movies.  The first couple of pictures are of Blake eating.  This boy loves his food; I think he takes after his big brother Jed. ;)

Will's 2nd grade patriotic program was this month.  He was so excited to show us the songs he's been learning.  Great job Will!

Lauren's DARE graduation was the same day as the 2nd grade program.  She's loved going to the school each Friday for DARE and dance.

Will had a belt test and moved from a yellow belt to an orange belt.  Congratulations Will!!

And last, but not least, Owen had his 5 year old checkup and got his shots for Kindergarten.  He was so nervous but was SO brave (and super cute with the doctor and nurse).  After the shots we went to Arctic Circle to celebrate the end of childhood shots. Yea!

  4. Jackie and Kim... Chima Legos are the newest line of Lego. They have a tv show by the same creators of Ninjago. They're kind of weird - they're jungle animals that use have a sacred stone that brings "chi" or balance to their community. Some bad animals try to steal it from the good guys and therein lies the plot. :)
